Festival Update - NHFF
10/15/2007
The New Hampshire Film Festival in Portsmouth this weekend was an experience to remember. Thanks so much for the strong turn-out and warm reception for “Dribbles.” We greatly appreciated everyone’s comments after the film.
We thank Joe, Seth, and Bruce for making the trip to the festival and for letting us drag them up front for Q&A after the film. It should also be noted that Seth and Joe did a truly magnificent job of “mingling” at the after parties Friday night promoting our Saturday screening.
We’d especially like to share this anecdote with our cast and crew who could not attend the festival. After the “Dribbles” screening, we made our way to a festival party in a venue in Portsmouth -- The 100 Club. When we arrived, we discovered that some audience members that had been at our screening had already arrived at the party and were spreading the word that “Dribbles” was “awesome.” That put big smiles on our faces and we hope it does the same for everyone else who worked on the film.
Aside from our showing, highlights included seeing some other terrific documentaries and features, attending informative panel sessions, having chips & salsa with a talented painter who was the subject of a documentary, and being invited by another producer to a private screening of a new, relatively high budget (for an independent that is), feature film starring well-known talent.
Our next screening will take place at the Northampton (MA) Independent Film Festival (www.niff.org) where the exciting news is that “Dribbles” will show in the beautiful and historic Academy of Music Theatre. On Sunday, November 4th, “Dribbles” will share the stage that has featured the live appearances of Sarah Bernhardt, Mae West, Harry Houdini, Ethel Barrymore, Lillian Gish, Boris Karloff, Basil Rathbone, John Philip Sousa, Jeannette MacDonald, George M. Cohan, and Ruth Gordon. How’s that for name dropping? Thank you Northampton!
A week after Northampton we will be back close to home at the S.N.O.B. Film Festival (www.snobfilmfestival.org) in Concord (NH)! More details about this festival will be coming in the near future.
Thanks again to the New Hampshire Film Festival for pulling off such a delightful event.
Cheers,
-Tom & Heidi
